Your notifications and report card privacy

Last updated November 2026 · v1.0

You decide what Chester sends you. Your provider can't override your notification choices.

The short version
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Use Notifications to pick your emails and alerts.
  3. Use Report Cards to pick how much detail you get.

On your phone

Notifications

  1. Tap the More tab, then Settings, then Notifications.
  2. Turn each kind on or off.
  3. Tap Save Notification Preferences.

Report cards

  1. Tap the More tab, then Settings, then Report Cards.
  2. Pick one option.
    • It saves when you tap it.
  3. Use Tell me when one arrives to get an email and a push when a card is ready.

On the web

Notifications

  1. Click Settings in the left menu, then Notifications.
  2. Turn each kind on or off, and click Save Notification Preferences.
  3. For alerts in this browser, click Enable browser notifications.

Report cards

  1. Click Settings in the left menu, then Report cards.
  2. Pick one option.
    • It saves when you click it.
  3. Use Tell me when one arrives for an email and a push when a card is ready.

The report card options

  • Use my provider's setting - your provider decides. This is the default.
  • Full details - every photo, note and observation.
  • Just photos - a shorter card. It keeps photos, potty breaks, medication and the note, and leaves out mood, energy, appetite and the highlight. On a group walk card you get the photos, the shared group note, potty breaks and medication, without a separate note about your pet.
  • Don't send me report cards - you get none. Your provider still keeps their own notes.

Privacy is handled for you

Your report card choice can only make things more private. If your provider's setting is more private than yours, theirs applies.

Good to know

  • The Email notifications switch turns off every email below it.
  • Payment documents always send. Invoices, receipts and refund confirmations are records you need.
  • The kinds you can turn off: Announcements, Booking confirmations, Booking changes, Payment reminders, and Product updates & news.
  • Birthday wishes shows only when your provider sends them.
  • Messages (push alerts for new messages) is on your phone only.
