Booking & Scheduling
Post updates during an overnight stay
During an overnight stay you can post updates between drop-off and pick-up. One post covers every pet in your care, and the details you add for one pet go only to that pet's family.
The short version
- Open the stay's booking and tap Post an update.
- Add a photo and a line, check the pets it covers, and send it.
On your phone
- Open the stay's booking from your schedule.
- On the Stay updates card, tap Post an update.
- Tap Add a photo (or Add a photo or video if your plan includes video), and write a line in the note box.
- Check the pets the update is about.
- Every pet is ticked to start with.
- The shared photo and note go to every family you leave ticked, so they can show other families' pets.
- To add how one pet is doing, tap Add details on that family's row.
- You can mark toilet, food and mood, and add a note or photo for that family alone.
- Tap Send update.
On the web
- Open the stay's booking from Schedule.
- On the Stay updates card, click Post an update.
- Add a photo, write a line, and check the pets it covers.
- Click Send update.
When you can post
- The booking has to be an overnight stay: at least 8 hours, ending on a later date than it starts.
- The Post an update button shows only while the stay is running, from its start time to its end time.
- Only the person doing the stay sees the card.
What the family gets
- The update on their booking, with per-pet details for their own pets only.
- One email at 10pm (your business time) with that day's updates, not one email per post.
- Families who turned off report-card emails don't get that email.
- A push notification for posts sent from the web, at most one every 30 minutes, unless they turned off push or report-card notifications.
- Posts sent from the phone don't send a push.
- A family whose report cards are set to private gets nothing. Their pets still show in your list, marked "Saved to your records - this family does not receive updates".
Update reminders
- On the update page, the Today row shows the morning, afternoon and night windows.
- Each window shows its hours, or Now, Sent, Missed or No reminder.
- To set how often for one client, open the client, then Stay Updates, and pick Use business default, Twice daily or 3 times daily.
- Changing it needs the Manage client records permission.
- Families never see this setting or a missed window, and you can post at any time during the stay.
Good to know
- If your plan includes video, you can add videos as well as photos.
- The update page lists every overnight stay you're doing that day, not only the booking you came from.
- The report card at the end of the stay still goes out as usual.
