How per-pet pricing works
By default, Chester charges for each pet on a booking - two dogs means two charges. That's deliberate (a walker with two dogs is doing twice the work), and you can adjust it per service.
The short version
- Every service is set to charge per dog by default: 2 dogs = 2 charges.
- Set an additional pet price to discount extra pets, or turn per-dog charging off for one flat rate.
How it works
When "Charge per dog" is on - the default for new services - the first pet is charged the service price, and each additional pet is charged too. Leave the additional pet price blank and every pet pays the full price; set it to discount pets after the first. Turn "Charge per dog" off and the whole booking is one flat price no matter how many pets.
Where to set it
Open a service in your catalog - Bookable services on your phone, Service Catalog on the web - and use Charge per dog and Additional pet price. When per-dog charging is on, the base price is labelled "first pet".
Good to know
- This is a default, not a bug. Two dogs = two charges is intentional; set the additional-pet price if you'd rather discount.
- Add-ons are always billed once per booking, regardless of pet count.
- Packs follow the same rule: a per-pet service uses one pack credit per pet.
