Send birthday wishes to your clients' pets
Turn on birthday wishes and Chester sends a short note from you on each pet's birthday. It's off until you turn it on, and only the business owner can change it.
The short version
- Open Settings, then Birthday Wishes.
- Turn on Send birthday wishes.
- Edit the message if you like, and save it.
On your phone
- Tap the More tab, then Settings, then Birthday Wishes.
- Turn on Send birthday wishes.
- The switch saves as soon as you flip it.
- Under Your message, edit the Subject and Message.
- Tap + Pet name, + Age or + Business name to add a fill-in.
- Tap Save message.
- Reset to default puts back Chester's wording.
On the web
- Click Settings, then Birthday Wishes.
- Turn on Send birthday wishes.
- Edit the Subject and Message, using the same fill-in buttons, then click Save message.
- The preview uses the pet with the next birthday, or an example pet called Max if none of your pets has one on file.
What your client gets
- On the morning of the birthday, from 9:00 am your time, an email if you have their email address, and an app notification if they have a Chester login with notifications on.
- Only the pet's main owner gets it, never household contacts.
- One note per pet per year.
- Pet owners can turn off Birthday wishes in their own notification settings. That switch shows only while your birthday wishes are on.
Good to know
- A birthday is needed. Add it on the pet's profile, or import it with your clients. Pet owners can add it in their own account too.
- Pets of archived clients and deleted pets get nothing.
- A pet born on February 29 gets its note on February 28 in other years.
- Your clients page shows a Birthdays this week card, on the phone and the web, when a pet has a birthday in the next 7 days.
- The subject can be up to 120 characters and the message up to 600.
- Staff don't see the Birthday Wishes setting.
