Messaging & Notifications
Notifications: what gets sent, and when
Chester keeps everyone in the loop with push and email notifications - new bookings, changes, report cards, payments, and messages. You control which ones you get.
The short version
- You get push and email notifications for the things that matter: bookings, changes, report cards, payments, and messages.
- Turn categories on or off in Settings, then Notifications.
Where to control them
On your phone, open Settings, then Notifications. On the web it's Settings, then Notifications. You'll find toggles for:
- Email notifications - the master email switch.
- Announcements
- Booking confirmations - new bookings and visit reminders.
- Booking changes - cancellations, reschedules, reassignments.
- Payment reminders
- Report cards
- Messages - a push alert when a client messages you.
- Product updates and news
Payment documents, like invoices and receipts, always send.
Turning push on or off
Push is controlled per device: use the notification card on the Notifications screen to turn push on or off for that phone or browser. The web supports browser notifications; there's no native phone push on the web.
Good to know
- Your clients have their own notification settings, so what they receive is their choice - and preferences like report-card opt-outs are always respected.
- Time-off notifications are for you and your team, not clients.
