Messaging & Notifications
Send an announcement to your clients
When you need to tell everyone the same thing at once - a holiday closure, a policy change, a weather cancellation, a new service - an announcement is a one-to-many broadcast. It lands in every client's Updates inbox, and you can add a push notification and an email on top. This is different from Messages, which is a one-to-one chat.
The short version
- Open your announcements and start a new one.
- Write a title and message, pick who it goes to, and choose push and email.
- Review the preview and send.
On your phone
- On the More tab, tap Communications.
- Tap New announcement.
- Fill in the Title (up to 80 characters) and the Message. To style the message, select some text and tap B, I, or the bullet button below the field.
- Under Audience, pick All clients or Choose clients (search and tap the ones you want).
- Under Channels, leave Push notification on if you want it to buzz their phone, and turn on Email if you also want it sent by email. In-app delivery to the Updates inbox is always on.
- Check the Preview, tap the send button (it shows how many clients it will reach), then Send to confirm.
On the web
- In the left sidebar, open Announcements.
- Click New Announcement.
- Fill in the Title and the Message. The toolbar above the message gives you bold, italic, and bullets.
- Under Audience, choose All clients or Select clients.
- Under Channels, keep Push notification on if you want it, and switch on Email to also email clients. The Updates inbox always gets it.
- Watch the live Preview on the right, then click Send Announcement.
What your client gets
- The announcement appears in their Updates inbox - on the More tab (Updates) in the app, or under Updates in the sidebar on the web.
- If you left push on, they get a push notification (as long as they haven't turned notifications off).
- If you switched email on, they get an email - unless they've opted out of announcement emails.
- Accepted household members on a client's account are counted in the reach and receive it too. The send button and the confirmation show that total before you send.
Good to know
- Announcements are a paid feature - part of the Pro and Team plans. On the free plan, you'll see an upgrade prompt where the New announcement button would be.
- It's also permission-based. Because an announcement can reach every client, only the owner and team members granted "Send announcements" can create one. Others don't see the option.
- Email is off by default on each announcement, so you never email your whole list by accident. Push is on by default. You choose both per announcement.
- Sending can't be undone, so give the preview a quick read first.
- Announcements you've already sent stay in your list to review, and clients keep them in their Updates inbox.
