Read your financials

Last updated November 2026 · v1.0

Your financials answer three questions: how much came in, how much clients still owe, and what you keep after Chester's fees. The numbers are for your whole business.

The short version
  1. Open Financials on the web, or the Money tab on your phone.
  2. Pick a period to see what you collected and what you kept.
  3. Check what's outstanding and how overdue it is.

On your phone

  1. Tap the Money tab.
    • The screen is titled Billing.
  2. Choose This Week, This Month, This Year or All Time.
  3. Read Collected at the top, and Outstanding below it.
  4. When a client owes you, tap the Receivables card to see who is overdue and by how long.
    • Tap Remind to email them a payment reminder, or Open invoices to see what they owe.
  5. Tap Earnings Dashboard for your net after fees and a split by payment method.

On the web

  1. In the left sidebar, click Financials.
  2. Choose a period from the dropdown at the top, or Custom range… for your own dates.
  3. Read the four tiles, the net card and the revenue breakdown.
  4. In Accounts Receivable, click a row to filter the Invoice History list to that bucket.
    • Click Clear filter to see every invoice again.
  5. Click a client in the overdue clients table to see only their overdue invoices.

What each number means

  • Collected - money from invoices paid in full, counted by the date they were paid. Part payments count once the invoice is fully paid. Refunds are taken off. It doesn't include tips or the service fee a client paid.
  • Outstanding - what clients owe today on invoices you've sent, whatever the period says.
  • Net of Chester fees - collected, plus tips, minus the service fee you covered, minus your Chester subscription for the period.
  • The overdue buckets - Current, 1-7 days, 8-14 days, 15-30 days and 30+ days past the due date.
  • Pack credits (web) - the value of prepaid pack credits clients haven't used yet. It's money you owe in visits, not new income.

Good to know

  • A sent invoice stays Current until Chester marks it overdue, even on its due date.
  • The web shows more. Revenue by service type and by product, the overdue clients table and more period choices are on the web only.
  • Sending a reminder by hand is on your phone only: on the Receivables screen, tap Remind next to a client.
  • Revenue by service type counts finished visits, valued at what they were billed. Its total won't always match Collected, which counts money received.
  • The Chester subscription line counts whole months, so it's zero for a single day or week, and for All time.
  • Who can see it. On the web, anyone with Manage billing or View reports. On your phone, only Manage billing. Owners have both.
  • Need files for your accountant? Click Tax Exports at the top of the web page. It's on the Pro and Team plans.
